WHY TURN NORTH?

Deuteronomy 2:2-3
“And the Lord spoke to me, saying: ‘You have skirted this mountain long enough; turn northward”

Why did God ask them to turn north? He did not only ask them to shift, He told them the direction of the shift. They must “turn northward”.
Look at this:

Isaiah 14:13
You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God, I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north;

Moving toward the north symbolizes moving upward towards God.
This is the place of alignment. Getting in alignment with God’s purpose and agenda. Moving in His direction. Thinking like God. Becoming more like Christ Himself.

There are things that God wants to do in the life of a believer. But there must be a supernatural shift in your focus, a shift in your mindset, a shift in your prayer life, a shift in your obedience and sensitivity to the Spirit of God.

Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit is not necessarily how quickly we discern what the Spirit is saying, but our promptness in shifting in the direction that the Spirit is leading.

Many times, God wants to answer our prayers. But He cannot do much for us at the level we are in. He wants us to move to the next level where He is waiting with answers to our prayers. The question is: can you really handle what God is about to do?

As we seek Him in prayer, He begins to shift things within us into alignment with His purpose. He shifts our focus upward/northward rather than moving only forward on the same level.
Knowing this, you will realize that as you pray, the prayer changes you. You become more like the version of you that God prepared that answer for.

Getting answers to prayer is not as important as what prayer does to the believer.
PRAYER DOES NOT ONLY CHANGE THINGS; EFFECTIVE AND FERVENT PRAYER CHANGES THE PRAY-ER.

Oh God, help me to be in alignment with YOU and YOUR divine purpose for my life. Amen.
